      Bernard Y A very good original group teen horror movie in the year for a "film to talk about". A lot of well known hard working cast still today.Good scenes, great character irony for this unspeakable type of plot story. I've watched this movie well over five times because it doesn't get old. Any attempt to take any part of it seriously is impossible after this scene… Basically… the third floor is where a girl, many years ago, had a tragedy occur and it is forbidden for anyone to go there. So two of five girls just have to go to the third floor. One of the girls claims responsibility and is punished… by… having her skirt pull up and getting caned on the butt in front of the others. YES you read that correctly. The rest of the movie was OK I guess but given the ridiculousness of the above makes any score more than 2 stars is impossible! The head mistress is the least convincing of them all and should never be given another role to play after this movie. Oh, and don’t get me started on the stupid sh*t they do, like barricading a door that opens outwards, so there’s essentially just a bunch of junk in the doorway when the door gets opened. Otherwise, this isn’t a bad movie, and it’s not a good movie. I fell asleep twice in the first hour of it, and by the end I didn’t feel like I missed anything important or that I needed to make sense of the rest. If you just want something to watch for 90 minutes, it’s ok, but don’t expect to feel rewarded by the experience at the end. It certainly is not a movie I can imagine any person ever choosing to watch more than once.
