A woman is strangled by her lover on her birthday. Just as she's about to die, time itself seems to stop. She finds herself in a shadow world, a distorted mirror of reality. Caught between life and death, she must relive the hours prior to her murder. When she finds herself attacked by him again, she manages to fight him off long enough to slip away. She escapes through a door, which only leads her deeper down the rabbit hole.

It's hard to say exactly what's going on in "8 Remains," an offbeat suspense picture that has more in common with vintage European art cinema than Alfred Hitchcock - although quality-wise, it's not up to the level of either.

From the beginning of the film, with the setting of a country manor house and antique furnishings to drab rooms to pastoral settings to a kitchen, the audience is caught up with the where-or-when-or ever will there be an answer.

Why this home cinema movie with the worst acting ever has 91%is a mystery to me. It's very hard to follow the story and not get distracted by the toechrinchingly bad acting. The lighting is awful, the soundtrack cheap. Also the camerawork is very amateurish. It's like watching a highschool play

I love sci-fi films and I love thrills, and this movie combines them both with an intriguing story and plenty of mystery. And talk about a chilling concept! The scenarios that the main character finds herself facing are bizarre and frightening. I was engaged watching everything unfold. Good movie!

A very psychological experience! I love those kind of therapeutic movies. 8Remains is very intense and never stops to play with your mind. The locations were beautiful and chilling which makes for a darker ambience. Plus the cinematography is excellent. A terrific thriller about fighting to stay alive. A battle between past, present and future. A truely clever and complexe script. I also loved the end credit sequence!

If you want to be taken on a thrilling suspenseful journey with unexpected twist, turns and flashbacks, this well executed life and death indie science fiction indie thriller will get you there. The parallel words are conceived very effective, with strong performances, stunning cinematography and impeccable editing- 8 REMAINS will keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through. Highly recommend it!
