Logan D Dec 21 In the village of Dikanka on Christmas Eve, a witch steals stars, the devil steals the moon, a ciquette teases a young man, and three oafs end up in coal bags. A wonderful folk tale full of menace, farce, and romance. Performances are highly stylized and the production boasts bold colors. I enjoyed seeing Christmas thru the Eastern European lens. It does get extremely silly at times but that can be forgiven for the time. And, oh my, do those Russians love their innuendo! See more 06/06/2007 a lovely comedy based on a tale by N. Gogol.
