a lovely comedy based on a tale by N. Gogol. In a 18th century Ukrainian village on Christmas Eve beautiful Oksana promises the blacksmith Vakula to merry him if he gets her boots as good as the Russian queen wears... It gives a good illustration of Ukrainian national character, morals, traditions, relations... great acting, great story...
