The acting and production value is actually far better than a Hallmark Christmas movie, which perhaps will take away the fun for some viewers; but, for me, made it infinitely more watchable.

There is absolutely nothing here that you haven't seen before, but if what you're looking for is a laidback romance that hits all the comforting notes you expect it to, then A California Christmas will definitely scratch that itch.

I liked it. There are definitely better Christmas movies out there but for those that fall within the Hallmark realm like "A California Christmas" does, this one has more to offer in the humor department and manages to keep things cheesy in a more tolerable fashion. I thought they could’ve executed the big climatic reveal better (which all of these films deliver in their own unique way). For its genre, I’d recommend it over certain others.
