Edmund Lee South China Morning Post It'd be very hard to think of a more pointless reboot than writer-director Jeff Lau Chun-wai's A Chinese Odyssey Part Three. Rated: 0.5/5 Sep 22, 2016 Full Review Boon Chan The Straits Times (Singapore) Despite Lau's involvement here, in the end, it is hard to shake off the feeling that this was made solely for a quick buck. Steven Y Didn't catch up the first time watched it until it blew my mind when I watched it again, countless times to watch it again and again since my teenage. A sad love story told by a comedy, despite the so-called professionals perspectives, it always touched you as a common people. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a magnificent example of what not to do when trying to do a sequel. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member a bit of a love triangle thrown in, but Stephen Chow and company are still as inane as ever. the schizo sisters are a welcome twist Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Stephen Chow and cast up the ante with the follow-up to Chinese Odyssey Part 1, but this movie is less focused and all over the place. Joker lands 500 years in the past, and finds out he will become Monkey King. He falls in love with a new female character, throwing out the old ones. There is a briefly funny body swapping plotline that quickly goes nowhere, and then a small action scene at the end with Joker becoming Monkey King. The ending is bittersweet, but this movie has enough flair to be enjoyable enough for a viewing. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Read all reviews
