Josh Bell Crooked Marquee Neither effective satire nor a satisfying version of a well-worn holiday tale. Rated: C Dec 14, 2022 Full Review Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat A Christmas Karen has nothing new to say, so it simply hits the predictable beats on cue, leaving viewers feeling as though they're being told a joke they already know the punchline to. Rated: 2/4 Nov 30, 2022 Full Review Joel Fisher Battle Royale With Cheese With a great performance from Simms in the title role and a sharp, funny script written by Jon Binkowski, A Christmas Karen may be that Christmas tradition which you go back to so that it can remind you what it’s really all about. Nov 24, 2022 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film The real appeal of A Christmas Karen lies in the fact that there ain’t nothin’ like a dame, but US culture has never really seemed to know what to do with such women. Mindy J What did I think? I stopped thinking after watching this movie, as my IQ decreased signifigantly with every passing scene.Though the main female actor who was quite delightful and funny, delivered her best, the script she had to work with left a lot to be desired. Some of the jokes were cute and funny, and indeed, this can be a light hearted Christmas movie to watch, but the script was so bad I began to be convinced that the writers were hired by someone's mom who wanted to give their basement dwelling teen a job. The actors gave it their best shot, and at times, I became so embarassed for them, I wanted to start a go fund me account so they could pay their rent until another script came along. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Dolores P Had low expectations but it was actually pretty funny. Who doesn't like to see a Karen get her comeuppance? So many wonderfully bad jokes, corny? Cheesy? Yes! But a lot of fun. I smell a cult classic! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/02/24 Full Review Annette A very poor rework of the amazing English classic. Full of stereotypes and divisiveness. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/29/23 Full Review Brian S Predictable storyline, bad acting, but surprisingly the production value of the movie was good quality. However: "I'd like to see the manager to get those 2 hours of my life back." Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/28/23 Full Review Tay V Funny with a good meaning. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/28/23 Full Review D J If you're looking for some deep re-interpretation of A Christmas Carol like some of the critics seem to have been, then this isn't it. If you're looking for a silly, light adaptation of the story using contemporary themes, then it's worth the watch. Cute, fun and doesn't try to be art.
