He meets and befriends a recent asylum seeker from Syria, and the two spend the summer bonding. The chemistry between the two leads is captivating and enthralling, it is a very intimate and insightful movie with some great stunning landscapes and a story about a fantasy that eventually meets a harsh reality. An idyllic and bittersweet tale about the struggles of sexual and ethnic minorities in our society. See more 09/13/2021 The movie starts off well but doesn't really go anywhere. It's a sexy, intimate story about two men from different parts of the world who hook up and share some intense tender moments. A quiet tender loving relationship between Levee and Tareq consumes the brunt of this exceptional movie. The slow burn will leave you emotionally wiped out. Such a wonderful story. Acting is great, it nicely shows different emotions from lust and delight to anger and sorrow. Altogether with the breathtaking cinematography of the Finnish lake and chilling "moments in the reed". I can safely say that this movie is a hidden gem.
