Glenn Kenny New York Times It’s all so anodyne that the also-obligatory girl-gets-mad-at-hunk plot turn before the love-conquers-all finale feels like being shaken awake during a dream of drowning in butterscotch sunsets. May 25, 2022 Full Review Courtney Howard Variety Charming, cute and fairly satisfying, it follows the formula for Netflix branded content that’s typically reserved for their holiday films, going down smoothly and pleasing the palate. May 18, 2022 Full Review Archi Sengupta LeisureByte.com A Perfect Pairing is a reshash of everything we have seen in rom-coms but is charming anyway. SkyRo P "A Perfect Pairing" is a film featuring Victoria Justice and Adam Demos that feels like Netflix's own take on the classic Hallmark formula. The streaming service has been trying to cater to fans of romantic comedies, but their efforts have waned recently, with less frequent releases and price hikes without delivering new content. For me, this film lands in an awkward middle ground. It offers the charm of a romantic comedy, showcasing Victoria Justice's comedic timing and the creativity of the director. However, it falls short of originality, coming off as a formulaic copy of Hallmark's style without introducing anything fresh or engaging. I don't dislike the film; it was enjoyable enough to keep my attention and reveal some redeeming qualities. Yet, I find it puzzling that when crafting a screenplay, writers don't seek feedback from others. If someone were to tell me that this director or writer had people review their script, I would be skeptical. It's hard to believe that they wouldn't have caught glaring issues along the way. It seems like they might be surrounded by people who are too timid to provide honest critiques, allowing significant mistakes to slip through. Victoria Justice does deliver a solid performance, showcasing her talent. However, since transitioning into adult roles, her acting credits have diminished, perhaps because she often leans toward more cartoonish characters instead of taking on more serious roles. Ultimately, while the film is passable, I wouldn't consider it worthy of a rewatch. I struggled to remember much about it until I revisited it, and I can't see myself doing so again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/13/25 Full Review Mike B I like wine, I like Australia and I enjoy Rom Coms. If you can get by a few cheesy spots at the beginning you will get a very enjoyable and feel good movie. Makes you smile! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/25 Full Review Joshua T I have to say I'm not a big fan of chick flicks normally, but this might be my most favorite chick flick doesn't have that let go of just depression or it seems like the girls losing at the beginning of the film completely throughout most of the film instead. This film actually is inspiring. It's nice to see a film. Worm romance is brought together so beautifully Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review Hilife Health Care r A wonderful movie. Victoria Justice and Adam Demos are terrific as the leads. Great Australian scenery coupled with a wonderful story make this one an absolute watch.
