Shy teenager Donna (Kate Hardie) doesn't have much entertainment in her rural English town. So when a customer at her roadside flower stand expresses interest in her, she does not refuse his advances. When it turns out that she is pregnant, Donna decides to keep it a secret from her parents, wearing baggy clothes to obscure her protruding belly and going into labor by herself in the family's barn. She attempts to abandon the secret infant, but soon she realizes a child might be what she needs.
