Audrey G 11/10/2024 Josh Lester wrote, directed, acted as the lead, edited and produced this film, and it's actually VERY WELL DONE. The Script is heartwarming, and a slice of life that we really enjoyed. The Cinematography is so good, and the budget I read on IMDB was only $50k!! WOW. The lead guy Josh apparently wrote and directed it as well. He is extremely likable as the lead, and he is cute in a weird way. Just find it and watch it, it's definitely worth a watch. Reminds me of Kevin Smith's Clerks in some weird way. See more 01/31/2022 We seen it this weekend and we loved it. Really creative storyline about pie (yes you guessed it) and dating. Best combination ever, we sat through the whole movie and had a really good time. Highly entertaining and totally worth the rent! See more 01/31/2022 You must eat a pie while watching this movie for maximum effect. Just kidding but what a great film. I was laughing through the whole thing. Great cast and it's super quirky. Well done, simple idea but complex if you get what i mean. Umm i love me some pie now. See more rehan a 09/09/2021 Written, directed and starring Joshua M. Lester, About Pie is a 2021 American comedy charting the exploits of a young man trying to find love while navigating his one true obsession, eating and making baked pies. Also in the cast are Amanda Westlake, Sky LaFontaine, Charlie R Parker and Julia Fae. Not only does the cast give electric performances, their banter bounces off each other really well. This adds a layer of authenticity to the narrative unfolding onscreen and is a true tribute to the creative prowess of Lester in extracting the best possible performance from his characters. In addition, Lester is the center of the story and his quirky and lovable character steals every single scene he is in. Speaking of cinematography, the visuals are crisp and dimly lit sets of warm hues add to the post modern flavour of the story. The film looks beautiful and everything from sets to costumes is really well done. A particular light must be shone on the score and music as well which really helps the story come alive. With all of the elements working in perfect sync, Lester has brought to life a quintessential millennial story, filled to the brim with love, romance and a touch of destiny. The fourth wall breaking antics once the credits start to roll add a nice touch to the story, leaving us wondering if all the adventures we saw were even real in the first place or not. Furthermore, About Pie cements Lester as a serious creative force who is definitely bound for greatness in the future. The way Lester manages the offbeat story both in front of the camera and behind it takes serious talent and we can't wait to see what more he has in store for all of us in the future. To sum up, About Pie succeeds in what it sets out to do with flying colors. Taking a man's love for pies and turning it into a deep story about romance and passion was not what I had expected from one of my favourite movies of the year so far. However, here we are swooning over how heartwarming and funny the film turned out to be. Not only am I highly impressed by the creative talents of Lester but the film might just have succeeded in rekindling my love for pies which had long died off since my grandma passed away.
