Prairie Miller WBAI Radio Suffice it to say, that whatever conventional circumstances exist in the real world concerning lost and found children, best to enter this tale of somewhat biblical proportions as suggested in the title, with an extraordinarily open mind. May 18, 2024 Full Review Aaron Neuwirth We Live Entertainment A stack of differing tones keep threatening to throw this film off balance, but this is the kind of indie film that gets by on its episodic structure allowing for a new character to emerge every so often and bring in a new energy to keep things likable. Rated: 6/10 May 17, 2024 Full Review Louisa Moore Screen Zealots While much of the story feels like a string of missed opportunities to delve deeper into the characters and themes, I appreciate what this earnest self-discovery drama is going for. The material is universal, ringing with truth and sincerity. May 14, 2024 Full Review Avi Offer NYC Movie Guru Despite a refreshingly slow-burning pace and exquisite cinematography with visual style that evokes the works of David Lean, the film isn't as suspenseful or engrossing as it could've been with a more profound and unflinching screenplay. May 14, 2024 Full Review Leo Brady AMovieGuy.com Adam the First is an incredibly universal story. It digs deep into the themes of growing up, the fathers that raise us, and what it means to be a good man. These types of stories linger long in our hearts. Rated: 3/4 Feb 29, 2024 Full Review Jeffrey M. Anderson Common Sense Media Frequently feeling a bit shallow or underwritten (and sometimes even exasperating), this drama is nonetheless held together by its undeniable earnestness and poignant lead performance. Mark B This is one of the worst and most painful films I’ve ever had to endure! The acting and the script is a diabolical shambles and it makes you question how supposed professional critics can cast such complimentary reviews on the likes of RT. The movie trailer actually looked pretty good and Kudos to the editors who managed to disguise this appalling feature and lure me in! Folks don’t be fooled and be sure to fully research your reviews before subjecting yourselves. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/25 Full Review Lolly S Absolute drivvle. Dreadful acting from the start, unrealistic- meant to be living in a clapped out trailer in the woods, living off rabbit - but their clothes are clean & crisp, straight out the packaging. ‘Mum’ can’t act for toffee and David D is only in the first couple of scenes, and even then he’s wooden and as fake as the tattoos emblazoned on his chest. Constantly waiting for the movie to pick up, show signs of life, but it’s as dead as the grandpa. Had the chances of being half decent as a story, if only someone picked up the reins. The soundtrack is all over the place, just like the boy’s wanderings. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/09/25 Full Review Steve A I really enjoyed this film, well acted and a simple yet heartfelt story that had me until the end, I only wished the story would have gone on for a bit longer to see what happens next...but it's all good ! :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/26/24 Full Review Rudy F It's not a sci-fi or fantasy feature but anyway you need gallons of suspension of disbelief to take anything serious in this movie. The stupid , shallow, silly and underscripted dialogues and scenes and lack of inspiration makes you think that there are written for a school play in a primary school. Why did the agent of Oakes Fegley tried to ruin the career of his very talented actor? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/24 Full Review Greg R Incredible. The ending of this movie is nothing short of incredible. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/24 Full Review Jessica D I have experienced the subject matter of the film multiple times in my life. I love how the film has a great pace and allows for audience members to form their own interpretations at times. At its core, this film shows the resilience of a young man seeking pieces missing from his own life narrative. It is a story that needs to be told more often and I hope theatres book it!
