Could have been alright based on the plot. Bit then Will and Jayden Smith putting in one of the most irritating performances in history. Most of the film Will over acting as some captain come super strict dad giving his son useless monotone instructions and then Jayden running around all over the place hyperventilating when he hears from so little as a mouse fart so just a load of shouting and winging in summary.

I really enjoyed this movie, the plot, the complex relationships, the intensity, and all the sci-fi aspects! It was a unique action movie that was not afraid to portray emotions, even uncomfortable ones. Jaden Smith did a wonderful job portraying a conflicted youth that found himself as he fought for the life of his father and himself. This was a thinking man's sci-fi movie that kept me on the edge of my seat! And of course, Will Smith was solid! Kudos to writers, cast, and crew!!

After Earth (2013) is a story that has no appeal whatsoever, a science fiction film that fails to deliver anything interesting. The protagonists are actually cool to follow, but it's a pretty bad movie.

Hmm. I wasn't expecting much, from the ratings. Boy, are there a lot of dumb people in the world. I can only guess this is like Soccer, where everyone loves it- but it sucks. Everyone hates this movie- but it's really good. I don't like Celebrity Nepotism and I think that's the underlying reason but white people are too passive aggressive to say that's the reason and will chalk it up to... Whatever. The story's good, the acting is good. Jaden somewhat overacts and it can be grating in that regard- but he's young and does fine. M Night's 'look' of the movie is great. Could've maybe made the alien a bigger part but it was enjoyable. I'd keep it even if I didn't know M directed it.
