Regina P Literally just had to take a few seconds to recall the ending to this movie. That is not a good sign. Great movie to keep you company while painting your nails, though. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Similar in many ways to The Facility (a better film), After Effect concerns a group of young people who sign up for a drug test and end up as part of a government plot to develop a new biological weapon. Modestly entertaining, the brutality is lacking in After Effect, and it ends up feeling a little too much like a Syfy Channel movie. Maybe it's because Daniel Baldwin is in it... Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member It was alright. The acting is ok. Got some scary gutpunch thriller highlights. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Music reminded me of 28 Days Later, but this movie cannot compare to it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member This psychological thriller/horror mix directed by David McElroy, and written by David McElroy and Marc Menet was actually made in 2010. I have no idea why needed three years to show up but "stars" Tuckie White, Matthew Lucki, Jake Hames, Alja Jackson, Kristina Geddes, Zak Hawkins, Jeremy Kahn, Lindsie Garrett and Daniel Baldwin seems never did any other movies during the last three years (excluding Daniel Baldwin). I am still not sure what is the name of this movie - my copy had the title The Removed but it seems it is more popular under the name After Effect. The story is taking us to the US military contained testing phase of new biological weapon through few college students who have shown up for what they think is a drug test to earn one thousand bucks. It follows Lacie Donovan, a girl who knows very well the trouble of trying to balance schoolwork with actual work. Few interesting characters were built up enough to hold up the story and everything was quite relaxed until the "procedure" begins. I have to admit that this was not poorly put together, actually some of the parts were pretty good as a thriller. The acting was pretty solid and the lead actress Tuckie White was the definite stand out. Others had their moments and as a team they were pretty good. They could be even better if the screenplay was a little bit better in the second part. If you are up for an entertaining movie which could be a reasonable thriller with few scares, maybe it's time to check this one.
