Audience Member A beautiful, feel-good homage to grand master Kurosawa, by the hands of a devoted, passionate apprentice, counting on Akira Terao's heart-warming. and magnetic charisma. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant film, superbly acted, superbly made. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member So so movie. It is alright, but to be honest it fell quite a lot in comparison to samurai masterpieces such as Hidden Blade, Twilight Samurai, When The Last Sword is Drawn, etc.. It lacks the emotional appeal as those movies and play off more of a preachy cliche film. The main character is also a bit bland, single dimensional cliche. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member "You glisten too brightly... Like a drawn sword... You're like a sword without a sheath. You cut well, but the best sword is kept in it's sheath." - Sanjuro (1962), Akira Kurosawa A travelling samurai, ronin, forced to keep shelter from the rains at a country inn ends up giving joy and happiness to the locals by his humble and humane conduct. Kurosawa's beautiful farewell to cinema. "As fine a swordsman as you are, you can't find yourself a place. It's ironic isn't it? Still, that's fine. You won't push people aside, steal their place. When you have the chance, you make wishes come true for people who are poor but good." - Ame Agaru (1999), Akira Kurosawa Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful and Sensitive Feel-Good Movie - A Great Homage to Master Akira Kurosawa Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member A sweet. quiet and small film of a ronin who almost finds a home. It's more of a morality tale about the ronin's perspective on the world than the typical samurai plot. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
