Much of the film's success is down to [Osamah] Sami's winning performance. He's completely charming as a more nerdy version of himself and he gets good comic support. Go to Full Review

Ali's Wedding neatly strips away the solemnity enveloping that lead balloon of a word "multiculturalism." There's a joyously comic lack of inhibition here and, even better, we're told it's largely a true story. Go to Full Review

This is a film in which you will hear a letter read aloud, with a voice-over saying the words "you dared to dream", delivered without irony. It is, as they say, what it is. Go to Full Review

At its heart is a smart, funny performance from co-writer and lead actor Osamah Sami as the dutiful young Muslim struggling with life choices. Go to Full Review

Boosted by goofy humour, Sami embraces rom-com tropes including a mad dash to the airport, playfully mucking around with Muslim stereotypes in the way only an insider can. Go to Full Review

May 17 I enjoyed the movie and they actually portrayed how marriages are done in most parts of the world... See more 11/12/2020 Did not expect it to be a subtle & witty movie. Glued on to the couch for its authentic and relatable storytelling. Enjoyed it! See more 05/14/2020 The plot was endearing but the cheap humor and character development were severely lacking. Worth playing as background noise if you're looking for a decent romantic comedy but absolutely not worth watching with your full attention. See more 04/09/2020 Such a pleasant change to see a film about Muslims which is not entirely negative. A wonderful portray of Muslim life in Australia, with love, joy, family, cynicism, disappointment and unconditional love. I cannot recommend this film highly enough.
