Ali's Wedding neatly strips away the solemnity enveloping that lead balloon of a word "multiculturalism." There's a joyously comic lack of inhibition here and, even better, we're told it's largely a true story.

The plot was endearing but the cheap humor and character development were severely lacking. Worth playing as background noise if you're looking for a decent romantic comedy but absolutely not worth watching with your full attention.

Such a pleasant change to see a film about Muslims which is not entirely negative. A wonderful portray of Muslim life in Australia, with love, joy, family, cynicism, disappointment and unconditional love. I cannot recommend this film highly enough.
