The Landrys gather for the weekend to fix up their family home in Chicago. Graham (Josh Radnor) really wishes his life was in a better place, especially since he's reconnected with his college crush, Dana (Chandra Russell). Sue (Becky Ann Baker) is looking forward to the next chapter in her life when an incident at her retirement party forces her to question things, including her marriage to complacent Roy (John Ashton). Then, Will (Rob Huebel), the television star blows in. What starts out as a benign family get-together ends up spiraling out of control as some shocking news threatens to tear everything apart.

Claudia Puig FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A slight and likable family dramedy made believable by some very strong lived-in performances. Oct 5, 2024 Full Review Michael Phillips Chicago Tribune With actors as good as Becky Ann Baker co-writer and director Haroula Rose’s second feature keeps one foot in easygoing naturalism. Rated: 2.5/4 Sep 24, 2024 Full Review Richard Roeper Chicago Sun-Times They all slip comfortably into their roles, they all get their moments to shine, and my biggest complaint about "All Happy Families" is that it leaves us wanting more. There’s so much more we’d like to discover about this unhappy family. Rated: 3/4 Sep 21, 2024 Full Review Tim Brennan About Boulder It takes skill and intelligence to portray a messy family with precision. That’s what Haroula Rose and her team have done. Not many movies are made anymore like All Happy Families. With a little luck, this gem of a film will change that. Nov 18, 2024 Full Review Ayrton Avery Battle Royale With Cheese Overall, this film is quite funny, while still grappling with some very serious themes. Nov 10, 2024 Full Review Joshua Stevens Loud and Clear Reviews Family dysfunction films can work, but All Happy Families suffers from its own dysfunctional filmmaking, relying too much on Josh Radnor’s talent.
