Kevin Crust Los Angeles Times Kelly gets a well-earned leading man turn in the amiable indie comedy-drama "All Square" playing a surly, but likable bookie in a small Maryland town. Oct 11, 2018 Full Review Glenn Kenny New York Times Kelly is a king among mordant underplayers. Yulin, a stalwart character actor, is reliably terrific. Adlon and Josh Lucas bring added value to their also-familiar characters. Oct 11, 2018 Full Review Neil Young The Hollywood Reporter Handled with unobtrusive professionalism in all departments, the film benefits greatly from Brady's novelistic attention to character and milieu. Sep 20, 2018 Full Review Matthew Passantino Film Threat By the time John's inevitable redemptive arc comes around, it feels like we've witnessed All Square many times before. Rated: 5/10 Nov 27, 2018 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue The offbeat concept finds a balance of humor and sentiment, while Kelly generates sympathy for a morally conflicted loner. Oct 19, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com It's not a forceful picture, lacking urgency at times when trauma enters the story, but it's solid work with divine cinematic inspiration. Audience Member This hit so close to home . Loved it . I saw so many people I know in each and everyone of these characters. 4.3. Acting and believability (even with sci fi as long as if the circumstances we as it - I’d believe it to be that way) are two of my top end qualifiers on rating a movie. Both near perfection here . I recommend for anyone who has ever placed any action on a sporting event . So good old fashioned dry humor Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/20 Full Review Audience Member Funny, real life scenarios with an edge that appeals to a wide audience! Endearing relationship between main character and young boy as they develop a friendship that benefits both of their emotional growth. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member A great young talent in this one to keep your eye out for. Overall fun film. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this film when I caught it at the Sunscreen film festival. Jesse Ray Sheps is a force in this film, and a young talented actor to keep your eye on. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review rick j Great cast, pity they didn't have a better script. Implausible, main character acts like a kid, befriends a 12yr old that acts like a sage. All the resources there to create a great movie. The cinematography, acting, direction, repeat wonderful cast, but alas,, not on the page. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member All Square suffers from the fact that its subject never gets funny, emotional or really captivating enough to really enjoy, making it a bit empty of both the inside and outside.
