In this film of unconnected humor sketches, bad movies and late-night television are parodied extensively. A doctor (Griffin Dunne) has to help Brenda (Michelle Pfeiffer) give birth, with unexpected results. In "Son of the Invisible Man," Griffin (Ed Begley Jr.) is actually more naked than invisible. Among the many other segments, there is a spoof of alarmist 1950s hygiene instructional films featuring a woman (Carrie Fisher) being harshly advised about her new sexually transmitted disease.

Amazon Women on the Moon is irreverent, vulgar and silly and has some hilarious moments and some real groaners too. Go to Full Review

An anarchic, often hilarious adventure in dial-spinning, a collection of brief skits and wacko parodies that are sometimes quite clever, though they're just as often happily sophomoric, too. Go to Full Review

Amazon Women on the Moon duplicates the experience of watching late-night TV in the 1980s... Go to Full Review

There appears to be a running, eerily prophetic theme in Amazon, as most of the skits deal with how advancements in technology - particularly television and home video - often sabotage our lives. Go to Full Review

Hit-and-miss. The best skit features Ed Begley Jr. as the son of the Invisible Man. Go to Full Review

Amy G @Amytheshort 17h Fun mix of slapstick See more Mikey B Jul 1 A kentucky fried movie, groove tube type series of skits. Some get a lot of laughs, most get a groan See more Blu B Feb 12 The track record for comedic anthologies is mixed to be very kind. However, this is defintely one of the better ones I've seen but it's just alright honestly. The humor is very varied from National Lampoon style sex/gross out, Mel Brooks Spoofs, A.Z.A. rapid fire jokes, screwball, and some SNL type stuff. Some of it works beter than others and some skits are funnier and just lose steam. This does a better job than most of setting up the jokes and taking it's time overall and not being random and references constantly. The acting actually isn't that bad here. Some got some pretty good comedic delivery. Skits like the Baby Delivery, the actual B Movie Spoof, and a couple others actually got some laughs and were clever here and there. But tha there are others that are just stupid, flal flat, or just miss. It would've been nice if there was more of a theme here too as it just feels random as a whole but it is mildly entertaining I have to say. Is there enoguh here for a watch? Probably not but it's still noteworthy for not being a complete trainwreck. Still Skip It I'd say. See more 09/19/2023 Roger Corman presents another one of his comedies much like Monty Python and David Zucker A mixture of 1950s satirical science-fiction movies and interspersing some spoof commercials Tons of celebrity cameos from Joe Pantoliano to Michelle Pfeiffer to Sybil Danning to Rosanna Arquette to Carrie Fisher to Kelly Preston to BB King to Jenny Agutter to Steve Gutenberg It's funny how the title is shown twice yet the actual moon portion doesn't happen until 20 minutes later At that point the ads created keep popping up to sell the satire of our addiction to television They poke fun at everything from childbirth to hair growth to political party support to the complicated world of dating to mystery shows to reviewing cinema to home video rentals The Amazon women section plays like a parody of planet of the apes right down to 3 astronauts landing on an unknown world, only in this scenario it's populated by strictly women The narrative is very scattershot in this but it's all about providing some good chuckles The very last skit involving a guy who rents a videotape is my favorite if I do say so myself going from sizzling to straight up funny This duplicates watching late night tv in the 80s that's for sure Sure of the skits miss the mark more than others but it's all good fun regardless See more Steve D 08/31/2023 Never funny and no story.
