Brad Wheeler Globe and Mail American Heist, I want my 94 minutes back. Rated: 1/4 Jul 24, 2015 Full Review Gary Goldstein Los Angeles Times Despite a few strong emotional beats, the crime drama "American Heist" proves as undistinguished as its generic title. Jul 24, 2015 Full Review Jim Slotek Toronto Sun American Heist has straight-to-video written all over it. Once there, I recommend you skip directly to the last act if you decide to watch it at all. Rated: 2/5 Jul 23, 2015 Full Review Matt Hudson What I Watched Tonight The movie suffers from underdeveloped characters, a lack of originality and an unnecessary social commentary. Half good, half bad. Rated: 5/10 Oct 20, 2018 Full Review Lisa Twang The New Paper (Singapore) Just play Grand Theft Auto 5 instead. Rated: 2/5 Sep 20, 2017 Full Review Mike Scott Times-Picayune Hayden Christensen and Adrien Brody turn in solid performances, but this by-the-numbers exercise does little to distinguish itself from any number of better crime thrillers. Dallas H Baby Driver did the heist plot better than this movie. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/20/24 Full Review Liam D Adrian Brody (Dummy, Back to 1942) and Hayden Christensen (Vanishing on 7th Street, All I Wanna Do) deliver strong performances but it’s an very generic action movie Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Audience Member Bad writing causes bad acting I guess. Don’t waste your time on a bad storyline. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/04/24 Full Review Dom C Talented cast working with bad writing and bad casting decisions for the characters portrayed. Pacing is a bit off, with pieces of the film feeling rushed with no explanation as to how certain situations occur. Ending felt cut short with too much ambiguity to warrant the actions leading up to it. Overall felt like an undercooked Chicken that was served too early. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/26/24 Full Review Mike T This entire movie was amazing, great cast, great acting, awesome story. 👍🏻👍🏻 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/25/23 Full Review Audience Member While this film would very much like to be a comedy about a jazz-loving car mechanic whose petty crim brother comes out of prison and keeps trying to drag him into ineptly criminal schemes, sadly it isn't. Gratuitous tonal shifts, cliche, and dubious racial stereotyping make it a cringe to watch. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Read all reviews
