      G. W Simple, powerful.... Yet underrated. Watch with your mind in gear. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/19/23 Full Review Carolyn H This movie was powerful movie with a history lesson as well. Underrated, we are still speaking about it days later as well as researching the story itself. Acting was excellent. A little like Scent of a Woman and The Professional. Don't skip this gem due to low tomatoes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Just couldn’t get into this movie at really . Performances were fine and everything 2.1 Rated 2 out of 5 stars 07/30/22 Full Review Serge L The film has no tension without the good acting of the actors. The situation is strange and it takes some time to understand the danger. The very end explains a twist and why the girl had to be dispatched. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/22 Full Review dave j Ben Kingsley stars as "The General" who is charged with war crimes and is in hiding with his supporters helping him by bringing him from place to place. He is then introduced to a maid played by Hera Hilmar. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member This was an interesting one. A low budget, minimally casted film about a war criminal and his maid. Surely giving Ben Kingsley all the room in the world to flex his prowess would have been a treat for us all. But his weird English accent and the lack of true emotional depth, was really the downfall for a potentially good movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

James Berardinelli ReelViews Every time An Ordinary Man seems to be headed into a minefield of clichés, it takes an unexpected detour and the film's final such excursion comes like a gut-punch. Rated: 3/4 Apr 14, 2018 Full Review Odie Henderson RogerEbert.com Nothing in An Ordinary Man rings true; not the location, nor the performances nor the story. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 13, 2018 Full Review Peter Debruge Variety Kingsley's domineering lead performance is worth the price of admission alone, although "An Ordinary Man" is actually a two-hander... Apr 13, 2018 Full Review Steven Prokopy Third Coast Review It's a curious film that I'm not certain works entirely, but the two leads are so interesting in their performance choices that I couldn't help but care where this unholy alliance was heading. Jun 10, 2020 Full Review Jason Best Movie Talk Played with bristling charisma by Ben Kingsley, the eponymous protagonist of this unusual chamber drama is anything but ordinary. Rated: 3/5 Feb 4, 2019 Full Review Jim Laczkowski Voices & Visions A flawed film, saved by two great performances and a short running time. Kingsley manages to do a lot with very little so if you're a fan, no need to pass this by entirely. Oct 31, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
