Audience Member What an interesting person with a tragic and interesting life, but what a boring way to take us on the journey. Apart from the charismatic and fascinating story of Anita Hill's life, there's not much in Anita: Speaking Truth to Power that's very fascinating. It plays like a made-for-History Channel documentary that relies too heavily on the story to carry the weight of the film. The delivery of the facts in the case are pretty straight forward, so about halfway into the film you're pretty done with the story. There's not enough investigation into the person of Anita Hill, so I didn't care as much as I should. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member As a documentary film, it's a bit lacking. As a reminder of Hill's bravery and cultural impact, and our government's mysoginistic myopia, it's a stunner. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Anita Hill is an American hero. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member It is sad that Anita Hill still has to deal with this nightmare and it is even more sad that the Judge's wife is still in denial. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Great portrait about a woman who was strong and poised through a vicious attack on her integrity. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The good news is that most people now believe Anita Hill. The bad news is that Clarence Thomas continues to limit the equal rights of women. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Sep 13, 2022 Full Review Geoff Pevere Globe and Mail It seems rather optimistically insistent on making a case that America has come a long way in 20 years, when the truth is 20 years is a mere historical heartbeat. Feb 28, 2020 Full Review Ren Jender Bitch Flicks In spite of politicians and courts still explicitly or implicitly labeling women as liars when they seek justice against powerful men, we need to see at least one happy ending to give the rest of us the fortitude to continue fighting. Mar 14, 2019 Full Review Stephen Schaefer Boston Herald The first-rate documentary Anita returns us to October 1991 when the Senate confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas became a national soap opera.
