New insignts about Anne's spicy personality and immense curiosity are revealed by Holocaust survivors Hanneli Goslar and particularly Miep Gies, an office employee of Anne's father who was one of the main helpers to the families in hiding. Go to Full Review

Just when you might well have thought that pretty much all had been said and done about Anne Frank, this film makes us realize how much there still is to know about her and her times. Go to Full Review

The interviews constitute the emotional backbone. The mere existence of these survivors is eloquent testimony to events so cruel they defy belief. Go to Full Review

It would be a shame if [the film's] participants were only recognized for their connection to a single survivor, even if it means losing some of the mainline focus. Their stories are as important as anyone’s and should be equally remembered. Go to Full Review

The memory of Anne Frank haunts us 50 years after her death. But it is the simple humanity (and unassuming bravery) of Miep Gies that makes Anne Frank Remembered a truly unforgettable experience. Go to Full Review

Leaburn O Mar 5 In the same way that Schindler’s List gave meaning to the phrase, one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic, this documentary is impossible to shake as the focus is glued to just one of the millions lost to the Holocaust. The moving camera footage of Anne at the end helps anthropomorphise her further. No longer just a picture and legend of diary, here is actual footage of the young girl with the tragic future yet to play out. It is a brilliant documentary even if it is fairly formulaic in style. Watched on DVD. See more 11/21/2018 Anne Frank Remembered interviews a number of people who knew Anne, either before or after she was sent to the concentration camps. Miep Gies, one of the quartet who concealed the Frank family from the Nazis in Amsterdam for over a year, offers extensive recollections of Anne, her father, and the war. Anne's lone surviving relative, Bernd Elias, expresses his feelings about his cousin. Excerpts from 1976 and 1979 interviews with Otto Frank (who died in 1980) are included. Together with many other testimonials, these form a compelling picture of events not covered by Anne's diary. Anne Frank Remembered is as important for what it will preserve for posterity as for the story it tells today. The message emerging from the Holocaust has always been "Never Forget", and films of this quality make it impossible not to remember. If the story of each of Hitler's victims was told with the sensitivity and power of Anne Frank Remembered, there would not be enough buckets in the world to hold all the tears. See more 06/28/2013 Whether it is a technical problem or for an authentic purpose, the copy of 'Anne Frank Remembered' (1995) I watched did not contain any subtitles when it was needed. It was not that I didn't find this documentary interesting; I just found this one aspect completely insupportable which brought the whole movie down. If you are really interested in Anne Frank, my best advice is to go read her book, 'The Diary of a Young Girl'. See more 01/05/2013 great movie to watch, i read the book, and this opened my eyes,.. history as it truly happened. Anne Frank inspired Nelson Mandela should be all a person needs to know to want to see this movie, a message of peace sent from a young girl who died horrifically at age 15. As with everyone else, sometimes, it gets pretty easy for me to forget how good I really have it in life. Every time I watch this movie, & hear the part when Anne writes in her diary of her waiting for things to get back to normal, as a viewer who knows that for her it never will, it serves as a great reminder to me when I feel like giving up.
