After years in a mental institution, George (Gene Wilder) is finally released and tries to adapt to life outside of the hospital's walls. Things quickly become eventful for George, however, when he is mistaken for Abe Fielding (also Wilder), a wealthy man who recently vanished. When the shifty Eddie Dash (Richard Pryor) realizes the situation, he decides to seize the opportunity and have George pose as Fielding, resulting in plenty of odd and awkward moments.

Vague, confusing, and pointless, but you get to watch Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor for a couple hours. There are worse ways to spend time.

Only die-hard fans of the Richard Pryor/ Gene Wilder comedy duo will be able to stomach this, this movie is a disaster from start to finish, Vanessa Williams was a pleasant surprise that ended strange with her being Pryor's love interest, same with Mercedes Ruehl falling for Gene Wilder, the producers gave these comedy legends some nice toys to play with on their last film together is the best I can give that...the contrived plot didn't work with the characters...the only thing that kept me watching was waiting for more Mercedes and Vanessa scenes, Mercedes looked really enticing in every scene she was in, what a mess of a film, I gave 2&1/2 just for the leads legendary careers, but this stunk

Synopsis
