alessandra p It had me, then it lost me, then it had me again, then it truly lost me. I liked the twist, but that was about it. I know the description said "horror/comedy" but I feel like it did neither really that well. Stupid. Forgetable. A waste of watching time in my opinion, if I could take it back to have watched something else instead I would have. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/10/24 Full Review Mary S Not what I expected, actually way better than I expected. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Satin B 💩 Star Wars trying to be Mandalorian-ish ; even after the first 5mins ⚠️👎👎 Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review Skip B Well written and acted. Surprisingly entertaining and insightful. Perfect amounts of laughter, horror, and suspense. Nothing overdone, everything in perfect little amounts. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/08/23 Full Review John C Despite other reviews this was a pretty decent movie. The acting, plot, and ending were all done very well. I know that other reviewers pointed out the poor special effects, but I think they miss the point entirely. Self doubt and loathing isn't really a monster, it's something we generate in our own minds. Hannah's appendage was simply that and mirrored how she viewed herself. I think any other version would have missed the mark. This is a cross between Black Swan and Invasion of the Body Snatchers and is well worth a watch. Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org Appendage is first and foremost a lot of fun, and Zlokovic clearly delights in employing older horror movies as a palette through which she can tell her own story of the nightmare many women face as they struggle to live up to impossible expectations Oct 23, 2023 Full Review Nick Allen RogerEbert.com A comically freaky look at the inner voices we must learn to live with. Rated: 3/4 Oct 11, 2023 Full Review Anton Bitel Little White Lies while this feature debut is certainly body horror, it is also a psychological allegory, dramatising Hannah’s therapeutic path to both emotional balance and accommodation of her worst qualities alongside the best. Mar 14, 2023 Full Review Savina Petkova A Good Movie To Watch The special effects team dropped the ball on this one, and the appendage's physical presence is more distracting than anything. Its concept and its aura, though, go a long way. Rated: 5.6/10 Oct 29, 2023 Full Review Murjani Rawls Draftkings Nation Rennard does a particularly good job in scenes where Hannah has to battle with her mother over a past mistake to see there’s always time to make a change. However, Appendage doesn’t feel like it can juggle its major themes once they are placed together. Oct 25, 2023 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media Appendage tries to add some lighter moments to balance out the horror, but these feel more forced than funny, more hokey than campy.
