Ne'er-do-well bandits Amos (Tim Conway) and Theodore (Don Knotts), aka the Apple Dumpling Gang, make their way on their mule named Clarise to the western outpost of Junction City. But soon they're mixed up in a bank heist they didn't commit, with Marshal Woolly Bill Hitchcock (Kenneth Mars) on their trail. They run away and land at a military base, where Capt. Phillips (Tim Matheson) is trying to track down an escaped double-crosser who might be involved with the real robbers.

Dale R The sequel to The Apple Dumpling Gang brings back Don Knotts and Tim Conway as the leads this time. I feel that this movie was written specifically for Knotts and Conway to do their thing in, and it works for that purpose. The rest of the cast is forgettable and some of the plot points didn’t work for me (was there really a love story here?). A couple lines got a laugh out of me and some of the shenanigans that Knotts and Conway’s characters got into were fairly amusing. I was disappointed that the theme song from the original movie didn’t make it into this one. If you enjoy their comedic style or liked the first movie I’d recommend a viewing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
