Serge L Very well acted little road film. Father moves to California with three kids in tow while dealing with serious issues. It starts all joyous while the truths are slowly unwound during the travel. The whole thing is so well acted and truly made, it feels like we are there and maybe lived some bits of it. Love pervades it and we feel every bit of heart breaks. But everyone gets to grow up from these. (Still not a reason to litter your stuffed animals. Be modern.) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review william s Limited.....that would be the one word I'd use to descibe this movie....limited all the way around. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Leslie Felperin Variety The ever-reliable Hawkes does what he can with the material, but his part is too thinly written to convince. Jul 18, 2013 Full Review David Rooney Hollywood Reporter The characters overall lack definition, and the writer-director is only moderately successful at accessing the pathos of a story that should be steeped in it. Jul 8, 2013 Full Review Manohla Dargis New York Times Ms. Silver's ability to translate the liminal into cinematic terms, to catch those moments between innocence and knowing, childhood and adulthood, unforgiving and forgiving, makes her someone to watch. Rated: 3/5 Apr 11, 2013 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Silver’s incisive script perfectly captures that moment where childhood innocence gives way to a deeper understanding of — and sometimes disappointment in — our own parents. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Spirituality & Practice Hits the mark as an emotionally authentic coming-of-age drama. Rated: 4/5 Jul 17, 2013 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews The story is too slight to go the full distance of 3,000 miles cross-country without this viewer losing some interest.
