Emily A One of the best movies I've ever seen! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/25/23 Full Review BradLee B Arlo the Alligator Boy is a beautiful masterpiece that could be enjoyed by the entire family!! Amazing animation, great character designs, a creative script, and an absolute fire soundtrack!! One of the very few movies on Netflix that is absolutely PERFECT!! The sequel series was great too, since it gave us such a great ending! I love this movie, and I think it would be perfect for family movie night!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/11/23 Full Review Moth This movie is such a comfort, from the stellar voice cast and gorgeous animation to the soundtrack that I'm still obsessed with and a genuinely sweet story. I've rewatched this movie and I <3 Arlo over and over again, both of them always bring me so much joy Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/19/22 Full Review Carvalho L This movie was the worst and bored for my life and it's Lyle's Rip-Off Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 10/24/22 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was unexpectedly good, better than I expected, and the musical numbers make it more lively as it tells the story of unwanted characters looking for a place to belong and call home. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Before diving into "Arlo: The Alligator Boy", I anticipated another piece of children's media where the plot and lessons being told would overly cater and pander to the current mindscape of the popular consciousness. Rest assured, those suspicions were laid to rest. "Arlo..." arrives with enough whimsy, emotion, and catchy songs that help make it a memorable and charming musical for all ages to dig into. Heather Hogan Autostraddle The music is pop-heavy, so not what we’ve heard from her lately, but her voice fits the style of the movie beautifully. It’s perfect casting. Plus there’s absolutely no jokes at the expense of Bertie’s size. Apr 13, 2022 Full Review Amy Nicholson New York Times Long before the motley crew crashes the Met Gala, it's clear that director Ryan Crego is bolting wacky gee-gaws onto a rote plot. Still, several gags pay off: wearable puppies; random lederhosen; rhyming references to the Jason Statham movie The Meg Rated: C+ Apr 17, 2021 Full Review Kristy Puchko Pajiba Arlo The Alligator Boy is an animated fable, filled with music, fun, and characters who are clearly queer-coded. Apr 16, 2021 Full Review David Reddish Queerty Fun and unexpectedly moving in the best possible way. Rated: 3/4 Mar 13, 2022 Full Review Mat Brunet AniMat's Review (YouTube) Arlo the Alligator Boy is a complex animated feature where the way it is built feels simultaneously sincere and disingenuous. Rated: 6/10 Feb 16, 2022 Full Review Reuben Baron CBR The wacky art style and strange characters make it appear as if it's going for a sort of surrealism akin to SpongeBob or Adventure Time, but its approach to storytelling is more formulaic, Disney-esque and undercooked.
