Craig B Okay, I was interested in watching this because the description sounded like a complete ripoff from the premise of ‘Invasion of the Bodysnatchers'…and yes, it well and truly is just that. Some creepy moments, but if you really want to see people being replaced with their evil, and more boring doubles, you're better off checking out the real deal…either the super creepy superior 1956 or 1978 versions of ‘Invasion of the Bodysnatchers', or if you prefer a modern retelling, the inferior (but still not too bad) 1993 remake. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/12/23 Full Review farah r Assimilate is many things and most of them aren't good but if you keep an open mind, you might actually enjoy some of it. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member The acting and CGI could be better but the premise was interesting! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Even though this is a rip-off of "Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" it totally works as a fun movie, with a nice little twist. Keeps your interest, no slow parts. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Simply put, a story that has been told over and over again, by storytellers who were far more original when they told it, and were far better at telling it. You can't really blame the actors, because their script was as unimaginative as the story itself. Small town body-snatchers tale with a bit of found footage mixed in. Absolutely nothing original. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Nice version of body snatchers! Teens vs. pods. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review Why on earth would I want to watch...it's not even crediting its original source. May 10, 2021 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times So there's nothing especially original about "Assimilate." But director John Murlowski and a talented young cast do at least keep the action lively and unpretentious. May 24, 2019 Full Review Anton Bitel Projected Figures made in the Trump era, a time when, no matter what your political persuasion, at least half the polarised country's populace appeared to have been replaced by sinister dead-eyed aliens, & neither neighbours nor family members could be trusted anymore May 23, 2021 Full Review Rhys Bowen Jones JumpCut Online You're unlikely to remember it soon after the credits have rolled. Rated: 2.5/5 May 6, 2021 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film It's unlikely to stick in your mind, but if you're just looking for something to get you on the edge of your seat on a Friday night, you could do worse. Rated: 2/5 Apr 15, 2021 Full Review Dulcie Pearce The Sun (UK) Like any teen horror film worth its salt, this lays firm foundations for a sequel - or six - to follow.
