In this animated feature, Roman troops are storming through Europe in the first century B.C., and just a sliver of British soil remains free of Caesar's grasp. After learning of the British plight, Asterix (Roger Carel) and Obelix (Pierre Tornade), two brave souls from similarly besieged Gaul, set out to aid their northern neighbors. Their quest: to deliver a potion that will boost British resolve and fighting skills. By turns, their journey proves whimsical, arduous and terrifying.

Audience Member Clearly the best movie of AstĂ©rix. It is the funniest at least. Just how the english people talk (in the french version) are hilarious. The story is really good and every years, when it is on TV, I know I'll have a good moment. Another thing, is how the images are good for an animated movie of the 70's if I'm right. A good film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Legendary Asterix Movie! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Asterix in Britain has good animation, faithfulness to its source material without being just the comic if it were a cartoon and tons of humour including the comedic highlights from the comics getting better in this adaptation. Plus, there's that kickass song "The Lookout is Out". Asterix in Britain is a fun Asterix adventure whose only glaring flaw is the annoying stereotypical French accents for the Gauls. The notable incorrect mouth movement within animation frames gets a pass because this movie was dubbed so it's understandable that that was going to happen. Check this movie out and see if drunk Romans will make your day. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review duncan p An Asterix film I wasn't even aware of the existence of until recently, it's actually a pretty good adaptation of the book, though it comes across kinda as a low-budget semi-sequel to "Asterix vs. Caesar", sharing some of the musical leitmotifs of the latter specifically while not having the same quality of animation. Not the strongest effort in the film series, but still as funny as the book was thanks to sticking to the source material quite strictly. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Another well-made movie adaptation of the Asterix comic series. What sticks out this time is the slick persiflage on Great Britain's culture. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews
