Synopsis
On board a Caribbean cruise ship, cigarette girl Marjory Stuart (Mary Martin) masquerades as an heiress in hopes of luring a wealthy man for a husband. Her ruse is detected by American bounder Pete Hamilton (Dick Powell), who is on a nearby boat with his best friend, Wally (Eddie Bracken). Marjory's dancer friend, Bubbles (Betty Hutton), searches for Wally, her runaway fiancé, while Marjory confides her plans to Pete, who sets her up with his wealthy friend Alfred Monroe (Rudy Vallee).
