A taut vengeance thriller that doesn't completely come together as one would hope but has enough solid entertainment value, well-directed visuals, and nasty twists and turns to justify a look. Go to Full Review

Manages to develop its own distinct flavor while fitting snugly into the general tradition of latter-day U.K. gangster pics, with their rueful humor, colorful characters and realistically nasty violence. Go to Full Review

The plot takes this scruffy everyman through unexpected twists and turns, revealing harsh truths in a smart, fun saga of violent retribution. Go to Full Review

It's hard to ruin a good revenge film, but the real problem is that Bad Day for the Cut is just nothing special. Go to Full Review

Jonathan M Apr 13 Fun, violent. Dark and quirky like most Irish movies. See more Mar 13 An excellent 'revenge' movie that bottles it at the end. I suspect this was intended to provide a high-brow type of ending where it is up to us to finish the movie in our heads. Well, the truth is, we prefer the film to wrap things up a bit better - otherwise there's so many loose ends. I think with an extra 10-20 seconds we could have had a resolution that avenged Bartosz as well and allowed his sister to escape the horror of it all. Stop trying to be 'arty' and tell COMPLETE story - start, middle, end. See more Gareth v 06/22/2023 A well constructed revenge movie that by the end has a man discovering more about himself than the events leading up to his actions. See more Glenn C 03/29/2023 Superb slow burning vengeance thriller, with a great mystery/thriller behind it. Yes, you have to suspend disbelief a little, but it allows a superb tension which is added to by the unlikelihood of the main protagonist in his role. See more @c0urtn3y 01/15/2022 this was good - as bad as this sounds, i wished it was a little less PG when it came to the violence; seemed like every time a fight broke out the camera was always focused somewhere else. it's a revenge film - hard to feel like justice was served when you don't actually see anything happen. See more 06/17/2021 Right from the start I wanted to see what would happen next. It was the cinematic version of a page-turner. And what came next, then next, then next… did not disappoint. The urge for vengeance and the immediate satisfaction of it become overpowered by the relentlessness and senselessness of revenge. A powerful message embedded in an entertaining film.
