Shubhra Gupta The Indian Express What is left is a bunch of jugular-grabbing explosive scenes, which make you sigh for the film this could have been. It should have left us scorched; it doesn't. Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 13, 2015 Full Review Manjusha Radhakrishnan Gulf News (UAE) This is no mindless gore-fest, as the director and actors do a good job of drawing you into their heads - no matter how warped or twisted. Rated: 4/5 Sep 13, 2018 Full Review J Hurtado ScreenAnarchy Badlapur is among the finest Indian thrillers I've seen over the last year, and Raghavan's best film in many years. Nov 3, 2017 Full Review Shilpa Jamkhandikar Reuters Raghavan takes one of the most worn-in genres in Bollywood and makes it fresh. Raghavan questions the nature of revenge, he questions whether the revenge justifies the crime, and whether our ideas of good and evil might need a rehaul. Jun 27, 2017 Full Review Nandini Ramnath Scroll.in Raghu is as solid as Siddiqui's Laiq is fluid. Laiq is the movie's gem in the rough, an optimist and a survivor whose final act of defiance against his unending quest to escape poverty is a masterstroke of writing and performance. Jun 21, 2016 Full Review Deepika Shetty The Straits Times (Singapore) Badlapur will leave viewers feeling all charged up and perhaps even deeply conflicted about the characters they just encountered on the screen. Priyan B Simple storyline but the execution was neat 8/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/26/24 Full Review Audience Member Thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A horrifying and thrilling movie, Badlapur is really one of Varun Dhawan's finest pieces of work Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Why are people hating varun dhawan he has acted very well in movies like Badlapur,October, sui dhaga and kalank the movies I listed was very bad in box office so people have to see his real talent Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Sriram Raghavan's "Badlapur" is his second best film after "Andhadhun". Unsettling, dark, rustic and profoundly layered, this deep thriller exerts solid twists and turns because it's intriguing cinema at it's most exciting and horribly fleshy. The revenge and vendetta dramas scale new heights in this adventurous modern tragedy where a man takes the revenge of the killing of his wife and child. This is a very good film because it's realistic and nuanced, and benefits from Nawazuddin Siddiqui's evilness of touch, Varun Dhawan's vulnerability and passion play as Raghu, and the dark humor exerted by Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi's female leads. The only flaw- and possibly what does greatest disservice to the film- is it's Anurag Kashyap-style indulgence of craft, which makes the second half and first half sag considerably sag in their beginning and end respectively. That aside, going in for "Badlapur" is going for some great, cannibalizing joy! And an unpredictable ride. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It is a good watch by Sri Ram Ragvan. Nawaz is good as always but I liked how Varun Dhawan knows for his comic timing and role steeped into a dark role. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
