Audience Member Bex and Dawn dream of opening a cafe together. Out of the blue, a generous businessman offers them the funds they need to make that dream a reality. Joy turns to crippling fear when the friends discover a vicious loan shark, who expects repayments or for them to suffer the consequences. Truly frightening and superbly written, this is a morality tale for the 21st century. The film is gritty to say the least with superb performances from the main cast who tackle the grim premise with a reality that's heart-breaking. Burrows beneath your skin from the off, with a sly edit that ekes out the tension to unbearable levels. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Joey Keogh Wicked Horror [T]he script is lazy, the action and gore perfunctory and there is not one moment where Bait is anything less than utterly predictable. Rated: 2/10 Oct 2, 2019 Full Review Naila Scargill Exquisite Terror Burrows beneath your skin from the off, with a sly edit that ekes out the tension to unbearable levels. Feb 28, 2019 Full Review Anton Bitel Projected Figures Bait shares its title with Kimble Rendall's 2012 schlockfest, only this time it is not finned underwater monsters but a predatory loan shark who circles the marketplace in search of big bites - and the terror which he brings is tangible and grounded.
