Audience Member The biggest flaw of this Ray Charles film, starting the musician as himself, is that there isn't enough Ray to sustain it. The main focus shifts from Ray to a blind boy and his mother, and then onto the mothers boyfriend who gets a job with Charles. The British family and the blind child aren't awful, but they aren't terribly interesting...and the real draw of the film is Ray Charles and his music, but they are practically background noise in the final picture...which is a shame.
