Critics Consensus

Tasteless, yet harmless, Balls of Fury nevertheless fails to generate enough laughs despite its lowbrow intentions.

Rebecca R I love this movie. Its a shame how low rated it is on here. People need to open their hearts to stupid comedy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review Blu B This is such a dumb idea. It's like Dodgeball mixed with Enter the Dragon...I can't beleive I'm even writing those two together. Walken is terrible as the villian, Lopez isn't good and feels like he's just going through the motions for a paycheck, and the jokes 90% of the time are so lame and fall flat. Everyone is ok but over the acting, cinematography, and pacing isn't good at all. Everythign else is ok though just very forgettable and again this idea could work if it was funny. But there just isn't much slapstick potential for hitting a ball back and forth. It also has cheap production value at times and basic direction. Again really stupid idea for comedy flick. Skip This. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 10/24/24 Full Review Bidon d Not funny, Dan Fogler painfully not good, sorry it's a phobe Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/14/24 Full Review Ben N I thought it was quite interesting if you really like movies where they have weird twist at the end the beginning of it was kind of slow. I almost had to force myself to watch it the beginning of this movie other than that it was actually fine for the rest of it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/24 Full Review Tee M Underrated. If it was a big name in the lead role instead of Dan Fogler this would be a sleeper quotable classic. Thats no disrespect to Dan Fogler. He nailed it. So did the movie. Expect low brow humour and this delivers plenty of laughs. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/07/24 Full Review Jace E I don't say this lightly, but Balls of Fury might be the dumbest movie that I have ever seen. It's not the worst movie, that spot is reserved for Marmaduke, but it sure is close. There are hardly any redeemable qualities to this film. The concept is ill-conceived, the characters are stereotypes and the plot is formulaic while also being just unfunny. To top it all off, the final "duel" is ridiculously dumb. Would this movie be better with Jack Black instead of Dan Fogler? Probably, but not by much. Note: How in the world are we supposed to believe Maggie Q in this movie? Best Character: Gary Best Quote: "Ping Pong... is not the macarena." - Master Wong Best Scene: The Opening Match? I'm reaching but I can't think of any scene that I actually enjoyed.
