Despite its sticky ethics and crude slapstick, I thought Bandidas was fun. Go to Full Review

A nominal action-comedy that fails to provide either excitement or amusement. Go to Full Review

Silly, breezy fun, fueled by playful chemistry between its charismatic, appealing stars. Go to Full Review

After a while the derivative, predictable plot turns and umpteenth cliched joke ensure that Bandidas never quite thrills as much as it could have. Go to Full Review

A shameful cinematic exemplar, which discredits the cinema itself. [Full Review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Bandidas comes from writer/producer Luc Besson, and it has the same kind of brisk, lightweight comic action as films like Wasabi (2001) and The Transporter (2002). Go to Full Review

Jackson buys the bank of the wealthy Don Diego (Ismael “East” Carlo) to execute the bank loans and take the lands from the Mexican farmers. Sandoval and his men go to the farm of Mr. Alvares and when he refuses to leave his lands, he shots him. He also poisons Don Diego by simulating a heart attack. Maria Alvarez (Penélope Cruz), who is a farm girl with few education, finds her father seriously wounded and brings him to the church, under the care of Padre Pablo (José María Negri). Meanwhile, the spoiled Sara Sandoval (Salma Hayek), who was educated in Europe, finds her father dead and is forced to flee from Jackson and his gang. Soon, Maria Alvarez and Sara Sandoval meet each other while robbing the local bank and soon they team up despite their difference of instruction. Meanwhile, the scientific detective Quentin (Steve Zahn), who is the fiancé of the daughter of Mr.Ashe, is sent to the town to investigate the heist and ends up joining Maria Alvarez and Sara Sandoval in the bank robberies. “Bandidas” (2006) is a funny and entertaining movie directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg. The plot is silly, but makes the viewer laugh a lot. In addition, Penélope Cruz and Salma Hayek are very beautiful and sexy women and are another attraction. Steve Zahn is a great comedian and responsible for most of the hilarious scenes throughout the story. In addition, there are the names of Sam Shephard and Dwight Yoakam in the cast. Do not think too much and enjoy this funny adventure. My vote is six. See more 10/08/2024 This movie starts dumb and just keeps getting dumber. I watched it just for the TnA but there's hardly any to speak of. Just a lot of made for TV lame PG 13 crap. It's neither funny nor thrilling. I didn't expect any acting from either Cruz or Hayek. But seeing actual actors like Zahn, Yoakam and Shepard partake in this dud of a flick really broke my heart. Worst part is the movie constantly hints of lesbian love but the two never even kiss. I can only assume they're saving it for the sequel, which surely will be even worse. See more Read all reviews
