Ay D The acting and cedric's one liners make this movie! Although, the premise of the ceasefire seems a bit unrealistic, it's a feel-good movie with a nice message behind it. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/22/24 Full Review Daniel M Another fun addition to a classic series. It lacked some of the fun characters from the first two but it was still fun to get a new movie from the series. Pretty serious issues were discussed as well. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/02/23 Full Review Keshon L This is the best barbershop out of all of them because it has a very strong story and message but i think the message is what is the best think about the film. The acting is amazing and everything about it is fun.The only think i don't like is the dumb plot lines that really don't matter to the story.but overall it looked horrible from the trailers but its better so 7/10. Kevin Maher Times (UK) This one, thankfully, boasts some welcome new cast members (including the rapper Common and Nicki Minaj), a new director in Malcolm D Lee (the cousin of Spike), and a fearless approach to difficult subjects. Rated: 3/5 Oct 10, 2016 Full Review Roxana Hadadi Chesapeake Family Magazine Barbershop: The Next Cut brings topical social issues into the narrative but only starts meaningful conversations without genuinely pushing them forward. Rated: 2.5/5 Aug 2, 2016 Full Review Steve Davis Austin Chronicle What most captivates is the rhythm of those scenes in which the characters mount the soapbox to share stinging observations on a variety of topics in an often hilarious back-and-forth battle of words. Rated: 3/5 Apr 21, 2016 Full Review Sarah Marrs Lainey Gossip The Next Cut is a comedy with dramatic heft or a drama with solid comedy, depending on how you look at it. Either way, it more than justifies returning to the barbershop. Oct 11, 2017 Full Review Robert Roten Laramie Movie Scope I did not laugh much, but it is effective on an emotional level, as a portrait of a people trying to cope with gang violence that is spinning out of control in their community. Rated: B Feb 8, 2017 Full Review Jeffrey Lyles Lyles' Movie Files A more mature installment that seeks to challenge audiences as often as it cracks them up, Next Cut marks a charming and enjoyable evolution of the series.
