Investigative documentaries are always captivating, and this one is truly a gamechanger as it unveils the actual roots behind the popular caped crusader with wronged acknowledgement and characteristic actuality behind the accompanied name. Ultimately a worthwhile film for comic book fans, particularly admirers of the dark knight's lore, whose depth continuously becomes plural with no defining end in sight, to find their knowledge incomplete. (A-)

Steadily and persistently builds a story for which you want to hear the end. And you do get that. Along the way there are sad times, things you see coming, dramatic revelations, and all with no manufactured melodrama. Very nicely done, and only one major mystery left unanswered - the side story of Fred's ashes. All in all a must-see for fans of comics, superheros, justice, and research and investigation.
