Beauty Mark is tonally odd at times, and not all the scenes make coherent sense. But its story and message are remarkable, the actors are excellent, and the realistic depiction of adult survivors of sexual abuse is heartfelt.

The moral of the story is to entertain your abuser in order to pay rent? This is a sad commentary on life. Shall we call this empowerment also? After all, the rent got paid. This movie is 100 mph in the wrong direction.

A refreshing change from an assembly line of movies about beauty queen daughters working for their ultra rich father's law firm. This is an old story that effects every sector of society. "Beauty Mark" is especially heartbreaking as it is so well portrayed by Auden Thornton, as a young mom stuck in the cogwheel of extreme poverty. A superb lead actress & supporting cast, so convincing that it's easy to forget they're acting.
