Arthur B Beggarman is a quality action movie with depth and good writing. What I liked best obout Beggarman, is the old school New York City Grit that we got from Taxi Driver, The French Connection, and the Taking of Pelham 123. The cinematography was great; filmed in locations that helps give it the aforementioned grit. The character development is good and the characters are well defined. The actors/atctress have good chemistry. Take the time for a good watch; there is much to appreciate here. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/25 Full Review Matt C This independent film is a standout, delivering a raw and gripping experience that hits hard. As someone who tends to pick up on the finer details of a movie, I found this one to be exceptionally well-crafted and emotionally engaging. The film excels in creating intense, anxiety-inducing moments that linger. Several scenes stand out for their ability to make you feel uneasy and fully immersed in the tension, drawing you into the story’s gritty world. The authenticity of these moments, especially for those who’ve experienced similar real-life situations (like myself), adds a layer of relatability that’s hard to shake. The cinematography is a highlight, with a mix of long and short shots that capture the mood perfectly. The color palette, particularly in the night scenes, enhances the film’s atmosphere, giving it a distinct and polished look. The sound production is equally impressive, with background audio that complements the visuals and pulls you deeper into the narrative. The music, including a memorable 80s-inspired track during a walking scene, adds a nostalgic vibe that fits the film’s tone. The acting is top-notch across the board. The lead, Beggarman played by Lenny Thomas, delivers a stellar performance, bringing depth and nuance to the character. Vinny, played by Peter Greene (Zed from Pulp Fiction), another key figure, is equally compelling, with a presence that leaves you questioning his motives—an ambiguity that adds to the film’s intrigue without ever being fully resolved, leaving the audience to ponder his true intentions. Overall, this movie is a triumph for independent filmmaking. The cast and crew should be incredibly proud of their work. It’s a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a well-made, emotionally charged story that doesn’t pull punches. Highly recommended. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/25 Full Review Audience Member Lenny did an amazing job as always. So so much intensity and emotions to this character. Looking forward to seeing more of this black man on my screen! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/12/25 Full Review N'neka H My two favorites team up from Ruthless, now for an amazing film. The dude, Lenny Thomas, gives us a real performance as always. It's a cautionary tale about the effects of war on our soldiers and how challenging it is for them to reintegrate into society. The emotions and swaying of energy capture you and keep you locked in. There's something magical about a film that has you thinking about it again and again long after the credits have rolled. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review Janel R This movie gave me so many emotions! Sad, mad, scared and sometimes funny! Lenny Thomas did a great job! He bought the character to life in so many ways. The ending will def surprise you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/10/25 Full Review ANTHONY N was a really good story. The subway scene felt so intense and real, and the way the movie showed the veteran’s pain was very true to life. All he wanted was a fresh start, but the money ended up feeling more like a bad omen.
