Audience Member Writers get psychological disorders mixed up. Multiple personality or Disassociative Identity Disorder is completely separate and different from schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a thoroughly well-documented, scientific disorder. The majority of psychiatrists and psychologists do not believe that there is anything substantive or scientific about multiple personality disorder -- it sounds and looks "sexy" to the non-professional, but in every case has been shown to be mimicked by a person under the control of someone who tells them they suffer from this purported malady. Movies like this do a disservice to the public by providing inaccurate scientific advice concerning important psychological disorders. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member good B movie thriller Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member B picture about a young woman suffering from asplit personality. Perversely enjoyable in a "so bad, it is good" sort of way. Joanne Woodward starred in a similar tale (the Woodward vehicle is better). Special effects are impressive considering the constrained budget here. This could have been worse, but, then again, it could have been better. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member Solid little thriller about Phyllis Thaxter on trial for murder for killing her boyfriend which the voices in her head told her to do. What makes this film a bit more interesting than say a film like "Straight Jacket" is that Thaxter is seen as a sympathetic character who's trying to fight the voices in her head telling her to kill. It's not a brilliant film, but it was a compelling enough of story to hold my interest and Thaxter did well in in a tricky role that could easily have slipped into a nutty Joan Crawford-like of performance. Edmund Gwenn plays her psychiatrist. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews
