If in the right mood, Beyond the Gates of Hell can prove to be a funny love letter to B Horror movies of old. All the genre tropes you can possibly think of are present on every frame, all the way to the shocking and unexpected ending.

It’s obvious that this is not a film to be compared to its big studio peers, but the director has no intention of hiding its purpose. Does it make the film any better? No. But is it something to be celebrated by supporting his journey? Can’t see why not.
