Disaster movie sequel following two groups of adventurers as they race to salvage a doomed ship's treasure hours after it has been crippled by a tidal wave. When the gold-diggers enter the overturned liner through a hole cut by the coastguard they discover more survivors still trapped on board and struggle to carry out their plans before the ocean finally claims the wrecked vessel.

Awful, unnecessary sequel, Dumb, campy, and cheap looking, With lousy fx, a lousy score, and lots of footage from previous movie, Most of budget spent hiring top tier cast, That said, Michael Caine anchors this movie, and brings commitment to his role, Sally Field, sadly gives one her most embarassing performances, But kudos to the costume dept for at least, dressing her in tight pants, and a top that shows off her toned stomach and body, I also enjoyed the added eye candy provided by Veronica Hamel, And kudos to Irwin Allen for hiring his Lost In Space star, Angela Cartwright, looking soooo pretty,

Una gran secuela que en mi opinión en algunos casos puede llegar a ser superior a la primera entrega. Es entretenida, tiene sus más y sus menos pero a pesar de su fracaso critico de y de taquilla es una película de culto que ha llegado a ser muy codiciada en el mercado. En resumen: tiene un gran reparto que no cuaja con la historia, guion aceptable y un buen final.

this disaster movie itself is a disaster. but then again so was most 70s disaster movies, including the swarm which also has micheal caine. and the towering inferno was good, but also infuriating to watch. so how can you separate crap from regular good shit?

1979: Needless sequel to "The Poseidon Adventure", as treasure hunters vs. robbers meet up at the wreckage of the sunken Poseidon to plunder the goods. Naturally, all get trapped in the wreckage and have to find a way out. Somehow, they find survivors still trapped in the ship. Hence, we have a retread of the original film. Some survive, some don't. OK for what it is, but it feels like deja vu all over again. Game cast, though. Look for an early Mark Harmon appearance. Stars: Michael Caine, Sally Field, Telly Savalas, Peter Boyle, Karl Malden Director: Irwin Allen.
