Josh G This is a Jaws four scenario, not necessary, silly, poorly written and lacking suspense. Don't waste your time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/18/23 Full Review Russ G Geez, was there ever a part that Michael Caine turned down? He's in THIS PoS? OK, Sally Field and the other B-list hacks, I can see, but Michael Caine was this desperate for a paycheck? Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review christopher c. m Not sure how they expected to get this into the country, crates and people are generally searched when it comes from luxury ships. Why in all Irwin Allen's there's at least one massive asshole? But the story works, the cast works and the acting is pretty good. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review robert p Nothing beats the Original Poseidon Adventure where everything is messed up when the ship turns over because it's top heavy, so I give this movie what it deserves and that's a 1/2 star. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review delysid d this disaster movie itself is a disaster. but then again so was most 70s disaster movies, including the swarm which also has micheal caine. and the towering inferno was good, but also infuriating to watch. so how can you separate crap from regular good shit? Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/22 Full Review Audience Member 1979: Needless sequel to "The Poseidon Adventure", as treasure hunters vs. robbers meet up at the wreckage of the sunken Poseidon to plunder the goods. Naturally, all get trapped in the wreckage and have to find a way out. Somehow, they find survivors still trapped in the ship. Hence, we have a retread of the original film. Some survive, some don't. OK for what it is, but it feels like deja vu all over again. Game cast, though. Look for an early Mark Harmon appearance. Stars: Michael Caine, Sally Field, Telly Savalas, Peter Boyle, Karl Malden Director: Irwin Allen. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Variety Staff Variety Beyond the Poseidon Adventure comes off as a virtual remake of the 1972 original, without that film's mounting suspense and excitement. Mar 26, 2009 Full Review Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times What did we really, sincerely, expect anyway, from a movie in which Karl Malden plays a character named 'Wilbur,' and Slim Pickens plays a character named 'Tex'? Rated: 1/4 Sep 2, 2006 Full Review Jonathan Crocker Time Out It provides the thinnest of excuses for rerunning the 'dramas' of the night before, but it doesn't do anything to salvage the venerable formula. Sep 2, 2006 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy It’s fairly worthless as a movie or a cultural artifact, but God bless its kitschy existence anyway. Rated: 1.5/4 Feb 25, 2023 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com ...there is at least passing interest here as to how not to make a sequel... Rated: 3/5 Mar 15, 2021 Full Review Augusto Martínez Torres El Pais (Spain) A poor caricature of Irwin Allen's previous films. [Full Review in Spanish] Aug 7, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
