daniel s A magnificent misfire. While an utterly terrible film by almost all measures, it's a great example of soaking-wet hamminess and cinematographic incompetence that's absolutely hilarious to behold. I won't defend the quality of the movie for an instant, but while it won't scare or intrigue, this amateur mess is sure to entertain. One of my biggest outright gripes is the film being pointlessly shot in black and white. Maybe it was intended to give it a period feeling? Towards the end, we (inexplicably) are treated to some color shots of the scenes- and they actually look very nice! It appears to have been shot on location rather than on sets, and the spooky, interesting color schemes of the place are really very visually appealing. I was rather miffed the movie denied us that all for the sake of some completely unconvincing nod to the setting's era, which they didn't even stick with all the way through. The rest of the missteps of this film, however, are unintentional comedic gold. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Although I watched just about 20 minutes: Definitly not recommended. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely Abstract. I can see why many people would not like this movie, but for hardcore lovers of Surrealistic value, I must say I didn't hate this movie. It was very out-of-the-box thinking and bared a great deal of truth, but the movie quality itself could have been a little better, as well as some of the dialog. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member An insult to Lovecraft's imagination. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Purchasing this PIECE OF SHIT is a perfect example of why I'm now a NETFLIX subscriber. A BAD script filmed by a BAD director using BAD actors with BAD special effects is a perfect recipe for DISASTER! Kids, take Big Daddy Bojanglz advice and stay clear of this insult to the great H. P. LOVECRAFT. Oh, and if you see anyone who had anything to do with the making of this movie please let me know so I can kick their fuckin' ass and get my money back. BOO! Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Tack another to the wall of shame. It's sad to see such a great iconic author such as H.P. Lovecraft associated with bad films. I guess nobody at this point has figured out that you cannot recreate his writings to accommodate the screen. Few have tried and succeeded. From Beyond and Re-Animator did in my opinion. Mostly because they were more comedies than horror films. From Beyond much less than the later but good none-the-less. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
