When her husband is forced into hiding near the beginning of World War II, Hungarian housewife Kata (Ildiko Bansagi) must pretend to be married to János (Péter Andorai). The two strangers, thrust together to hide their true identities from the Nazi occupiers, have no confidence in each other, and each fears the other will somehow expose long-held secrets.
