C.H. Newell Scriptophobic Although Black Fly diverges greatly from its true crime source, the screenplay's perspective remains a character study of the real Noel Winters's explosive violence. May 1, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member It was much better than I expected. It was on Tubi. What I'm finding lately is a flood of home movies passed off as Independent Films just to get out there. Most are complete garbage and it blows my mind how some self-proclaimed directors would even put their names on it. I thought this film was going to be one of those, but it wasn't. The storyline was great. I resonate with dysfunctional family life. And also believe Noel was justified in his revenge. However, for him to be so psychotic it felt like he let the villains off easy. Personally, if I was gonna go there, I'd make the best of it. All the characters were believable. And the plot twist at the last 2 minutes I did not expect. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member acting and the movie r quite good!!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting storyline that wasn't so predictable. Acting was good and believable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/20 Full Review Audience Member Well acted and well written. The story draws you in, and then goes off in unexpected directions. I enjoyed it. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A gritty and powerful downward spiral into a specific character's complete lack of all things sensible. It's as though once the first domino tumbles, all dominoes are fated as doomed. At that point it becomes a character study of what to do, when all they're trying to do is stay out of the way of the personal dissension into madness. Do you dare get involved or just try to stay out of the way? That's why this film was viewed with my jaw agape and my complete attention to the screen. You almost can't believe how it unravels, but it makes for a very interesting viewing. I highly recommend. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Not bad at all. Well acted and skillfully directed, there are some truly tense moments in this film. I know nothing about the true story so maybe that was helpful in my opinion, but as a movie alone it's a pretty good nail biter. The actor playing Noel does a really good job and is pretty scary. The full cast is admirable in their performance. Music sets a nice dark atmosphere. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
