Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times Perhaps the most depressing thing about Sophia Banks’s “Black Site” — a dreary, underwritten thriller — is an ending that suggests a sequel might already be in the works. May 3, 2022 Full Review Monique Jones Common Sense Media While the film succeeds in its action elements, it fails when it comes to portraying characters of color. Every character of color is treated as fodder and killed off... Rated: 3/5 Jun 2, 2022 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online [Black Site is] a pretty okay movie that mostly succeeds in spite of some obvious limitations. May 20, 2022 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue While downplaying the sociopolitical complexities that form its backdrop, the film squanders a promising start with dwindling narrative urgency in the second half. May 4, 2022 Full Review Johnny Loftus Decider Driven by a strong lead performance from Michelle Monaghan, Black Site features some bloody action movie thrills as its titular subterranean facility is torn apart by Jason Clarke’s one man terrorist army. May 4, 2022 Full Review Peter Gray Cinefied Black Site ends up a black hole of stereotypical nonsense that cant even muster emotional investment or intentionally humorous additives to keep its audience on hand Apr 27, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

JP B I waited until the Director's Cut came out and I'm grateful I did. I loved the performances and stunts, the action was cool and Jason as "Hatchet" had me wondering who was going to end up alive by the end. Great for a Friday night. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review Punk4evr ! Its like amature hour at the cia recruitment center! For a "Black Site", all the persons stationed there, seem to have had about a 1 hour course at best! They are the worst of the worst for military persons, all looking out for themselves, and showing zero coherence in organized manuvers. You would expect only the best at such a installation, but instead only examples of the worst. An alarm at such a place should send all personnel into hyperactive vigilance! its not the daycare! But now... all the "fortified" act like its a joke, and over sensationalized. Sure, black sites have "situations every day, i'm sure". There is no sembelance of any coordinated efforts at all, at doing what's right. No one is acting in national interests, and as others have mentioned, it seems its all for one, and no one for all. Its so hard to watch and try to understand any rational thinking at all. It's just basically nonsensical mess; everyone is acting of their own accord and fallback contingencies don't exist. Clearly, whoever made up this story just went with what they have seen on other tv shows to base how professional the characters should be and dispensed with what should have been intensely trained professionals all together. Probably best just not to watch, but if you want a good example of how to ruin something that had potential? This is a fine example of what not to do. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Jelisije J A action movie with an interesting plot, but the execution of said plot was just terrible. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/26/23 Full Review Sonny A Horrible! Save yourself the time and disappointment of watching this mess. The screenplay, the director and production are just awful and the whole thing is boring. Good actors trying to make a terrible movie work but sadly it still fails on all fronts. I couldn't even get to the end of it because I lost interest 10 mins in and I have sat through a lot of bad movies having invested time into them, it was that bad I couldn't bear through it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Roger L No actors and a story without sense and logic. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Morten J All rationel thinking is gone… So many good actors, yet a shitty production. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/23/23 Full Review Read all reviews
