Kevin, his older sister, Brittney, and her fiancé, Tony, set off to their parents' lakeside cottage expecting a leisurely weekend getaway, but little did they expect the horror that awaits them. Their holiday turns into a trip from hell as they enter a scene of mass murder, where their parents and neighbors this side of the lake all lie dead. Terror strikes when the armed murderer confronts them, alleging to be fighting demonic forces that had possessed them all. They pin him down and lock him up in the cellar, but soon he claims to not to be alone down there. As unexpected and traumatic events keep unfolding, they will have to find a way to survive the night without turning on each other, or becoming possessed.

Blood Conscious is a quick, small-scaled thrilled that offers some humor to balance the darkness. It favors mood over the story, but Covell more than succeeds in leaving you hanging on its core question right until the very end.

The movie is extremely slow with only a few jumpy points. The is no visual of anything scary, it's just written for your imagination to tell you it's scary with no confirmation. Low budget, low quality, okay storyline, but not enough to keep me interested. And the end what's that all about, a gun or two after the cut scene would have added to the intrigue.

When the vacationers find everyone dead on their side of the lake and trap the suspected killer, they find out there's more to it than murder. The possession aspect could've been cool, but the lines and acting were just so bad.

Nice mood and some nice undercurrents, but they're ill defined. Wasn't sure if this was good or not, but the way it ends made me sure these undercurrents had no place to go. The writing turned out to be weak. A lot of promise but little payoff.
