Katie Walsh Tribune News Service [Benjamin] nails that cheapo retro aesthetic with a story that's thematically richer and much more interesting than one might expect for the genre. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 25, 2019 Full Review Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine Appearing to recognize the flimsiness of her material, Roxanne Benjamin overcompensates with insistent direction. Rated: 1.5/4 Apr 25, 2019 Full Review Justin Lowe Hollywood Reporter Benjamin doesn't quite succeed in demonstrating her premise that life-or-death situations can empower an unwilling victim to become an unexpected hero. Apr 25, 2019 Full Review Bianca Garner Filmotomy By no means is Body at Brighton Rock a terrible film, it's just not a very remarkable one. Horror is more than just loud noises and dead bodies. Oct 4, 2024 Full Review Calum Cooper Source (Scotland) It’s got its perks, but the film ultimately becomes as lost as its heroine the further into the story it gets. Rated: 2/5 Jul 14, 2024 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views In a traditional horror movie, she would get picked off in seconds. In the post-Buffy era, you may expect to watch her become a realistic bad ass as she becomes more self-possessed and skilled. We get neither and are poorer for it. Mark B Starts off promising seems you are in for lighthearted comedic movie. Nope tonal shift it’s a thriller? Shift does not work. The main character just is ridiculous in her actions to the point of what are you doing now? And the scares and tension are contrived jump scares. The “twist” is not earned or make any sense at all and you are left with wow that 1 1/2 hour movie went by like only 3 hours and what a waste of time. Positive the actress was good the scenery pretty to look at. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/14/24 Full Review Christopher S This should have been a short film. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Jeremy B I didn't watch a trailer or read any more than the basic synopsis. Based off that and a solid looking poster I gave it a shot. It was very disappointing. I was expecting a tense lone survival movie with a ranger defending herself from a bear. Instead I got a half assed ghost story that never seemed to commit to it's own ideas. If only they had spent the time they did making that poster to finding someone who could act or a writer who knew what they were doing. There was potential there. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review Timothy T A very intense horror movie with a great leading lady. The fear of being alone in the woods with a corpse and wild life is terrifying. Loved this movie. Wish it had a longer running time though. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Denise S I would think they give park rangers basic survival training, so this movie is incredibly unrealistic. The main character was so stupid I wanted the bear to eat her by the end! This movie is what you get when one person is given money to film their moronic idea and no one says...wait, that doesn't make sense. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Bryan B Dumb & boring. 85 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
