Audience Member Every time the last 10 minutes makes me cry Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I dare say pursuing dreams and forgetting about everyday life was only the surface of this movie, and one can still find a few more dimensions of this flick. Hats off to Dorocinski; one of the best performances I've seen in a long time (not only in the Polish cinematography) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member good story, interestingly made and very enjoyable. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A group of homeless people find their meanings of life and preserve their dignity by playing soccer. Too schematic and chaotic; I had an idea that the film pretends to be social drama, comedy, mockumentary and melodrama at the same time. On the other hand it's one of very few polish film about football, which is its major advantage. There is some fine acting as well, especially by Marcin Dorocinski as Jacek (the coach). Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member This film takes some getting used to. I've wanted to turn it off after the first 10 minutes, but have somehow decided to leave it on and slowly, have noticed myself being pulled in more and more. The cast is good, the filming is good, the reality is gritty, and the mockumentary angle used within the film does work. For a long time, this feels like a proof of concept, or a directorial debut, more so than a feature film, but it's highly watchable if given a chance. It’s a film about a group of homeless people, who essentially find meaning in whatever little they have of life, through soccer. It’s almost absurd – and there are a few scenes that seem borrowed from magical realism – but it does work and whereas the film does not purport to go beyond “reporting”, it does leave a glimmer of high quality hope.
